The Depp v. Heard case has taken over the media in the last month. from tip jars labeled “Team Depp” and “Team Heard” and fan edits of Depp on Tik Tok, to people waiting outside of a courthouse to take fan photos with the lawyers involved, the case seems almost surreal to me.

Euphoria has taken over media platforms since the very first episode. When new episodes air, Twitter trends are solely focused on it, and TikTok is littered with theories, critiques, and fan edits alike. I quite literally got HBO Max solely to watch it! the critically acclaimed series has been praised for its honest and raw depiction of drug addiction and the heartbreaking destruction it leaves in its path.

There has been a lot of talk around ethical labor and ethical brands lately. Although this conversation is much needed, it is heartbreaking that this conversation is just now picking up speed. In the light of the racially driven conversations that have been occurring all over the world, many have asked the same question: is slavery really over?

Firstly, I think it would be immensely socially irresponsible and ignorant to not address what is going on in the world right now. there is no question that the centuries of systemic racism in the U.S. (and around the world) are being exposed at all angles.

The topic of consent has become more and more widespread over the past few years. With social media and the “Me Too” movement expanding, the concern for consent, and the awareness of what consent actually constitutes has become a priority within romantic relationships.
